At Basildon Primary School, we are proud of the school we have built, and we are equally clear that we have not done it alone. The support and leadership through The Downland Federation, now carried forward into Summit Education Trust, has played an important part in where we are today.

What has mattered most is that the support has always understood our community. Basildon is a school with a strong sense of identity and reputation locally, and that has been respected and protected. At the same time, we have benefited from expertise that has helped us move forward with confidence. Financial management and estates support have allowed us to plan properly and look after our school for the long term. Work around brand and communication has helped us tell our story more clearly to parents and the wider community.

Our staff feel this too. There is a real sense that we are part of something wider, with people to turn to, share ideas with and learn from. That has strengthened our team and, in turn, the experience we offer our children.

We see it every day in the relationships at the school gate, in the conversations with parents, and in the pride our children take in being part of Basildon. It remains a happy, well-supported school at the heart of its community, with strong foundations behind it.

"There is such a good variety of different activities and trips, and ways of engaging the

children. The teachers are excellent, and all are committed and positive. The uniform

is wonderful and I think my kids are proud to wear it. The weekly letters are interesting

and the calendar of upcoming dates for the diary is helpful. The wraparound care

provision is absolutely brilliant. The focus on reading in the lower years is to be

commended."

"The Staff are great, really warm and friendly, it creates a wonderfully supportive environment for kids to learn. Basildon Extra is fantastic and much appreciated. We value the effort from staff to identify some great extra- curricular opportunities- Lemur trip to Windsor, monsters competition and jungle creature visit have all been great. Really appreciate the enthusiasm and effort to find ways to give more stretch in maths and reading to both my children. Calendar in the weekly newsletter is a really useful addition. Welcome the push to get more of us walking to school."

"Basildon provides a safe and nurturing learning environment, communicating advance dates has much improved, passionate teachers that are invested in the development of the

children."
